We are delighted to announce that The Academy has been given the opportunity to participate in the inspiring ‘Gardening for Good’ programme, delivered by the talented team at The Gardeners Co.  This enriching initiative will run over six weeks during the summer term, at the beautiful Arlington Court.

Hosted at The Gardeners Co.’s base, right next door to Arlington Court, the programme is designed to promote wellbeing through nature-based learning. Each week, students will engage in hands-on gardening activities, with themed sessions that explore a wide range of topics including:

  • Gardening Basics – learning the foundations of planting and soil care.
  • Growing Mushrooms and Microgreens – discovering the magic of indoor cultivation.
  • Natural Crafts and Wildlife – creating with nature and supporting local ecosystems.
  • Design and Build Projects – constructing planters, insect hotels, and more.

A key highlight of the programme is its community-focused ethos. Students will not only grow their own seedlings but also donate them to local organisations, helping to spread the benefits of gardening beyond the school gates.

This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to connect with nature, develop new skills, and contribute positively to the community. We’re incredibly grateful to The Gardeners Co. for making this possible and look forward to seeing the creativity and growth that will blossom from this experience.
