Inspiring Futures: Year 7 and 8 Enjoy the BAE STEM Roadshow

Our Year 7 and 8 students were treated to an exciting and thought‑provoking experience when the BAE Systems STEM Roadshow visited the school. The event, designed to spark curiosity and promote careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM), focused this year on the fascinating world of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

A Workshop Full of Creativity and Fun 

The roadshow was far from a traditional lecture. Students were challenged to think creatively and explore how AI is shaping the future.

 Highlights included:

Songwriting and performance – pupils composed their own song and even produced a music video.

Teamwork challenge – one brave teacher was blindfolded and directed around the hall by students, testing communication and trust.

Exploring risks of AI – students learned about the potential dangers and ethical questions surrounding AI.

Meeting an AI dog – the workshop ended with a demonstration of just how clever AI technology can be, leaving students amazed at its capabilities.

Learning Beyond the Classroom 🌍

The roadshow gave students a chance to see how STEM subjects connect to real‑world innovations. By blending fun activities with serious discussions about AI, the event encouraged them to think about the opportunities and challenges of technology in everyday life.
