Students Shine at Illustration Workshop

On Friday 19th June, 30 of our Year 7, 8, and 9 students took part in an exciting illustration workshop led by Joseph Witchall, a local illustrator, showcasing their creativity and enthusiasm for art.

Throughout the morning, key stage 3 students experienced a talk from Joseph about his career and inspiration, saw some live illustration based on student ideas (a roller-skating elephant no less!) and then created their own pitches for picture books with strong messages. It was an excellent opportunity to hear about creative careers. 

The results were truly fantastic, with students creating some amazing pieces of artwork that demonstrated both skill and imagination. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they embraced new challenges and expressed themselves through illustration.  

The workshop proved to be a valuable learning experience for everyone involved, offering both inspiration and practical skills that students can continue to develop in their future work.

Overall, it was a hugely enjoyable and rewarding morning, and we are incredibly proud of all the students who took part.
