At 6am on Wednesday 9th July, 47 excited Year 8 students set off from Braunton for an unforgettable three-day adventure in London. The trip was packed with iconic landmarks, educational experiences, and plenty of fun—an enriching journey that left everyone with lasting memories.

Upon arrival in the capital, the group headed straight to the historic Tower of London, where they explored its fascinating past and took part in an engaging workshop. From there, they boarded a Thames River Cruise, soaking in the sights of London from the water, including Tower Bridge, the Shard, and the Houses of Parliament.

The day continued with a visit to the London Eye, offering breathtaking panoramic views across the city skyline—a highlight for many students.

Thursday began with a scenic walk to the Houses of Parliament, where students enjoyed a guided tour and participated in educational workshops, gaining insight into the workings of British democracy. After a picnic lunch in a nearby park, the group split into two: one half ventured into the thrilling London Dungeons, while the other explored the wonders of the Sea Life Centre.

That evening, the group gathered at the Apollo Victoria Theatre for a spectacular performance of Wicked, a magical end to a busy day.

On Friday, the final day of the trip, students visited two of London’s most renowned museums: the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum, where they explored interactive exhibits and discovered more about the world around them.

The group returned to Braunton around 8pm, tired but full of stories to tell. The students were a credit to the Academy throughout the trip—enthusiastic, respectful, and engaged.

Great fun was had by all!
