The Expressive Arts Faculty was buzzing with energy on Thursday as 38 Braunton Academy students took part in an electrifying Hip Hop Street Dance Workshop led by the acclaimed O’Driscoll Collective.

From the moment the music hit, students threw themselves into the challenge—learning bold, gravity‑defying movement sequences that pushed their confidence, coordination, and creativity to new heights. What made the day truly special was the sheer enthusiasm in the room; students described the workshop as “intense, inspiring, and unbelievably fun”, with many eager to keep developing their street dance skills.

This workshop marked the second in a series supported by Beaford Arts, whose commitment to enriching arts education continues to open doors for our young performers. Their partnership enables our students to work with professional artists, experience high‑quality contemporary practice, and feel part of a wider creative community.

The Expressive Arts Faculty is deeply grateful for Beaford Arts’ ongoing support in providing such exceptional opportunities. Experiences like this not only elevate the profile of Drama and Dance at Braunton Academy but also empower students to take creative risks, collaborate, and discover new passions.
