Tuesday 15th July marked an important milestone for our Year 11 students at Braunton Academy as they completed their final GCSE examination, bringing five years of hard work, perseverance, and personal growth to a close.

Following their last exam, students gathered together in a much-loved tradition to sign each other’s shirts. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, messages of friendship, and shared memories, as each signature reflected the bonds formed during their time at the academy. This informal but meaningful moment gave students the opportunity to celebrate their journey together and leave with a lasting keepsake of their school years.

After the shirt signing, students attended a heartfelt leavers’ assembly. This emotional occasion provided time to reflect on their achievements and experiences over the past five years. Staff and students alike shared stories, highlights, and words of encouragement for the future, recognising both the academic accomplishments and the personal development of this exceptional group.

The assembly was a fitting tribute to a year group who have shown resilience, determination, and a strong sense of community throughout their time at Braunton Academy. While there were certainly tears alongside smiles, the overwhelming feeling was one of pride—pride in how far they have come and excitement for the opportunities ahead.

We wish all of our Year 11 students the very best as they move on to the next stage of their education and beyond. They will always remain a valued part of the Braunton Academy community.
