Mentality Triumph at Battle of the Bands Regional Heat

A huge congratulations to three of our students collectively known as Mentality, who delivered an outstanding performance at the Battle of the Bands regional heat, held this week at North Devon College. Competing against talented groups from schools across North Devon, the band impressed both the audience and the adjudicators with “a fantastic performance and a brilliantly crafted song”—an original piece written and performed by the band themselves.

The event offered an exciting platform for young musicians to showcase their creativity, confidence, and musical skill. Bands had the chance to perform live on a professional stage. 

Mentality’s success means they will now progress to the Countywide Final of Battle of the Bands, joining Cliffhanger from Ilfracombe Academy as North Devon’s representatives. The final will take place next month at the iconic Exeter Phoenix, where the region’s top young bands will compete for the county title.

This achievement is a testament to Mentality’s hard work, originality, and passion for music. We wish them the very best as they prepare for the next stage of the competition—and we can’t wait to see what they bring to the Exeter Phoenix stage.
