Braunton Academy Shines at North Devon Athletics Championships

14 May 26

On 13th May, Braunton Academy students delivered a series of outstanding performances at the North Devon Athletics' Championships, showcasing both talent and determination across a wide range of events. The competition brought together some of the region’s strongest young athletes, and our students rose confidently to the challenge.

Success at this event carries significant opportunity: winners earn the chance to progress and represent North Devon Schools at the Devon Schools' Championships, one of the most prestigious fixtures in the county athletics calendar.

Standout Performances

Several Braunton Academy athletes produced exceptional results on the day, including:

Quentin in the 100m and 200m
Nanise in the 100m and 200m
Dylan in the 200m and 400m
Carys in the 800m

Each of these athletes demonstrated impressive speed, stamina, and competitive focus, earning well‑deserved recognition for their performances.

Commitment, Determination, and Sportsmanship

Beyond the medal‑winning results, what truly defined the day was the attitude of every Braunton Academy competitor. Students showed:

Commitment — pushing themselves through challenging heats and finals
Determination — fighting for every metre, jump, and throw
Sportsmanship — supporting teammates and respecting competitors

Their conduct both on and off the track reflected the values we are proud to uphold as a school.

Looking Ahead

With several athletes now in contention to represent North Devon at county level, the academy is excited for the next stage of the athletics season. The dedication shown so far sets a strong foundation for continued success.
