Year 10 Students Explore University Life at Exeter University

18 Dec 25

On Wednesday 17th December, a group of our Year 10 students had the exciting opportunity to visit Exeter University for a day of academic exploration and inspiration. The visit was designed to give students a real taste of university life, helping them to imagine their future pathways and discover subjects they may wish to pursue in the years ahead.

Throughout the day, students took part in a series of workshops and talks led by university staff and subject specialists. These sessions offered valuable insights into studying at degree level, the variety of courses available, and the wider experience of being part of a university community.

To make the day even more personalised, each student selected two subject strands to explore in depth. The options included:

  • Languages & Film
  • Maths & Economics
  • Nursing & Bioscience
  • Medicine
  • Business Management
  • Politics & English
  • Law & Criminology
  • Computer Science & Engineering

These workshops allowed students to get hands-on with new ideas, take part in discussions, and ask questions about future study and career opportunities. Many commented on how inspiring it was to see real university facilities and meet experts in fields they are passionate about.

The visit not only broadened students’ academic horizons but also helped them build confidence as they begin to think about their post-16 and post-18 choices. Experiences like this play a vital role in raising aspirations and showing young people the exciting possibilities that lie ahead.

We are incredibly proud of how engaged and enthusiastic our students were throughout the day, and we look forward to offering more opportunities like this in the future.
