Braunton’s Commitment to Military Families

At Braunton, around 10% of our pupils come from military families. We understand the distinctive challenges faced by service pupils and their families, and we are committed to ensuring they do not experience educational disadvantage because of their circumstances.

We strive to create a safe and supportive environment where service pupils can flourish and succeed. We celebrate the strength, resilience, and resourcefulness they bring to our school community, recognising the immense value they add to our culture and ethos.

Our partnerships with military charities such as Greenpaths CIC, The Root Cause Charity, and the welfare teams at RMB Chivenor enable us to provide tailored pastoral support. This includes dedicated service forest school programmes and the guidance of our Pastoral Forces Coordinator.

Many of our staff are current or former service members, or spouses of those serving. Their lived experience means they are well-placed to support military families through educational transitions, offering both empathy and practical guidance.
At Braunton, we are proud to stand alongside our military families, ensuring every pupil has the opportunity to thrive.
