Braunton Students Triumph in European Rugby Festival and Devon County Cup

Over the Easter break, seven Braunton students proudly represented Barnstaple Under 14s in the prestigious European Festival of Rugby — and returned as champions.

The long‑running festival, now in its 25th year, brings together 60 teams from across Europe, creating an exciting and highly competitive environment. Throughout the tournament, the Barnstaple side faced strong opposition from teams from Holland, Latvia and the UK, showcasing impressive teamwork, determination and skill.

Their hard work paid off as the team went on to win the entire festival, an incredible achievement on such a large international stage.

The success didn’t stop there. Just yesterday, the boys continued their winning streak by securing the Devon County Under 14s Cup, once again representing Barnstaple Rugby Club and our school with pride.

A huge well done to all the boys involved. Your commitment, sportsmanship and passion for the game are truly inspiring. We are incredibly proud of you.
