We were delighted to welcome Ali Andrews from the School Library Service for a special visit this week. Her time with us proved to be both inspiring and energising for our Student Librarians, who relished the chance to learn from an expert in the field.

Ali spent the afternoon discussing a wide range of literary genres and exploring how the Dewey Decimal Classification system helps organise information and make libraries more accessible. Our students were fascinated by the practical insights she shared, and many commented on how much more confident they now feel navigating and supporting others in the library.

One of the highlights of the visit was the lively conversation about books. Students eagerly shared their favourite reads and took the opportunity to ask Ali for recommendations—something she was more than happy to provide. Her thoughtful suggestions sparked plenty of excitement and added several new titles to their must‑read lists.

Ali’s visit left our students feeling inspired, empowered, and more connected than ever to the world of libraries and reading. We’re incredibly grateful for her time and expertise, and we look forward to putting our students’ creative visions into action.
