Four of our students spent the afternoon taking part in a meaningful student leadership visit to the local Memory Café, offering their time, energy, and kindness to support residents from the village and surrounding areas who are living with memory difficulties. The visit provided a valuable opportunity for our young leaders to represent the academy within the community and to engage in a truly enriching experience.

The Memory Café plays an important role in bringing people together, offering companionship, conversation, and stimulating activities for those who attend. During their visit, the students embraced every aspect of the afternoon. They took part in friendly conversations, supported a range of activities, and enjoyed listening to music from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, which sparked plenty of smiles and shared memories. They even joined in with playing musical instruments, adding to the warm and lively atmosphere.

Their behaviour throughout the visit was exemplary. They showed maturity, empathy, and genuine interest in the people they met, making a positive contribution to the wider community and demonstrating the values we are proud to uphold as an academy.

It was a lovely afternoon for everyone involved, and the students should feel incredibly proud of the difference they made.
