GCSE Results 2025
Braunton Academy is proud to announce an exceptional set of GCSE results this summer, marking further improvement from last year and showcasing the dedication and talent of our students and staff.
This year, our students have achieved an impressive 73 Grade 9s, the highest possible GCSE grade, and more than 350 grades at Grade 7 and above, reflecting the academic excellence across a wide range of subjects. A significant number of subjects have achieved higher than the national averages for both highest grades (7-9) and at standard pass level, including both English and Maths.
This remarkable cohort began their secondary school journey during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, facing unprecedented challenges from the very start. Their success today is not only a reflection of academic achievement but also of their strength, adaptability, and perseverance through difficult times.
Fay Bowler, Principal of Braunton Academy, praised the achievements, saying:
“We are absolutely thrilled with this year’s GCSE results. Our students have shown incredible resilience, determination, and ambition. These outcomes are a testament to their hard work and the unwavering support of our dedicated staff. Every member of our school community has played a part in this success, and I couldn’t be prouder.”
Braunton Academy continues to be recognised as an inclusive school, and this year’s results highlight the progress made by our disadvantaged and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) students. Their achievements have increased across the board, demonstrating our commitment to ensuring every student reaches their full potential.
“We are especially proud of the fantastic results achieved by our SEND students,” added the Principal. “Their success reflects the inclusive ethos of our school and the tailored support we provide to help every learner thrive.”
There were some truly exceptional individual achievements among this year’s results. Izzy Roome secured an outstanding nine Grade 9s and one Grade 8, while Principal Student Charlie Jones achieved eight Grade 9s, two Grade 8s and an A grade in A Level Additional Maths, demonstrating remarkable academic excellence alongside leadership responsibilities. Emma Pittman and Flo White also impressed with seven Grade 9s each, reflecting their dedication and hard work. A special mention goes to Issi Hebbard, our very own England International Lioness and Under 16 Captain, who showed phenomenal commitment to her studies while balancing a demanding training schedule and competing in international tournaments with the England squad. Her success is a shining example of determination and discipline.
As we celebrate the accomplishments of our Year 11 students, we also look ahead with optimism to the next cohort preparing for their GCSEs in summer 2026. With the continued support of our staff and the strength of our school and wider community, we are confident that next year will bring even more success.
