Plymouth Argyle Apprenticeship for Leo

Braunton Academy is proud to celebrate the success of Year 11 student Leo, who has officially signed as an apprentice with Plymouth Argyle Football Club. Leo’s achievement marks a significant milestone in his football journey—and for the Argyle Academy, it carries a special sense of pride.
Leo is one of eight new first-year apprentices welcomed to Home Park this summer, each beginning a two-year scholarship with the club’s Under-18s squad. What makes this group particularly special is that all eight players have progressed through Argyle’s youth system, representing the club across various age groups and contributing to the Under-18s during the 2024/25 season under coach Jamie Lowry.
A talented goalkeeper, Leo has deep roots in North Devon football. He began his journey at Chivenor Soccer School, where his potential quickly became evident. His dedication and skill earned him a place in the Argyle Academy, where he continued to develop and impress.
In 2023, Leon represented Plymouth Argyle in the prestigious SuperCupNI tournament in Northern Ireland. The team delivered a strong performance, winning four out of five matches and reaching the semi-finals—a testament to the strength and promise of the Academy’s young talent.
Leo’s connection to the club runs even deeper—he is the son of former Pilgrim Luke, making his signing a proud moment for both his family and the Argyle community.
Everyone at Braunton Academy is incredibly proud of Leo’s achievements and wishes him every success as he embarks on this exciting new chapter. We’ll be cheering him on every step of the way!
