Community Garden - Then and Now

24 Jun 25

Live Well in Braunton and ourselves have created a Braunton Community Garden.  The dedicated team of volunteers have transformed a huge portion of the garden, creating a vibrant space that benefits everyone in the community.  The garden now has wheelchair accessible beds and adaptations for those with visual impairments to ensure it is a space for all.  This has been created with the guidance of a Devon County Council Occupational Therapist and the experience of the volunteers.

A safe open space has been created for the local community.  Guided sessions with Gardeners Co. have been held to increase the interest in green spaces and gardening locally.  Open days have also been held, welcoming community members to explore the garden, learn about the project and discover the joys of gardening.  These open days have brought people together, fostered connections and we have shared the bounty of the harvest.

There is more in store for the garden.  We are planning new initiatives to engage even more community members, expand the gardening efforts and continuing to expand the team of volunteers.

See below the now and then pictures to demonstrate the hard work of the volunteers and how the garden was enjoyed by our students during the recent Sports Day.

Thank you to the volunteers from Live Well in Braunton for creating this amazing space.
