On Thursday 26th June, we proudly completed the second day of our Cultural Champions training with the inspiring guidance of Sandyha and Eddie. This enriching experience brought us closer together as a team and deepened our understanding of the diverse cultures that shape our community.

The day began with presentations, as each participant shared a PowerPoint about their own culture. These personal stories were heartfelt and enlightening, offering a window into the traditions, values, and histories that define who we are. It was a celebration not just of difference, but of shared humanity.

One of the highlights of the day was our shared meal, where we each brought in dishes from our own cultural backgrounds. The room was filled with the delicious aromas of food, and the act of sharing a meal created a warm, communal atmosphere. It was a true feast for the senses—and the soul.

In the afternoon, we explored artefact boxes representing Trinidad and Tobago, Mali, and a third location in Asia. These hands-on investigations allowed us to engage with cultural objects, sparking curiosity and conversation about the histories and traditions behind them.

This second day of training was not only educational but deeply meaningful. It reminded us of the importance of cultural awareness, empathy, and inclusion in everything we do. We look forward to continuing this journey and using what we've learned to champion diversity in our school and beyond.
