Ocean Explorers Tackle Scrub Clearing at Woolacombe Burrows

4 Feb 2025

This week, the Ocean Explorers embarked on an exciting and impactful adventure to Woolacombe Burrows. Our mission? To clear the scrub and help maintain the natural beauty and ecological balance of this stunning coastal area.

An Afternoon of Hard Work and Team Spirit

Armed with gloves, tools, and a lot of enthusiasm, our team set out for Woolacombe. The task at hand was challenging, but the team spirit and camaraderie among the Ocean Explorers made it a rewarding experience.

Why Scrub Clearing Matters

Scrub clearing is essential for preserving the unique habitats found in Woolacombe Burrows. Overgrown scrub can overshadow native plants, reducing biodiversity and impacting the local wildlife. By removing excess scrub, we help to create a more balanced environment where a variety of species can thrive.

Highlights of the Day

  • Team Effort: Everyone pitched in. It was heartwarming to see the collaboration and support within the group.

  • Learning Experience: Our knowledgeable guides shared insights about the local ecosystem and the significance of our conservation efforts.

Looking Ahead

The Ocean Explorers are committed to continuing our conservation efforts and making a positive impact on our environment.

Thank you to all the students who participated and supported this week's scrub clearing event. Together, we are making a difference!
