Devon Army Cadet Success for Mahi, Zack, and Quentin at the Ten Tors

12 May 2025

This past weekend marked the culmination of an extraordinary journey for three of our students – Mahi, Zack, and Quentin – who have spent the last nine months undergoing a demanding selection and training process to earn their place on the Devon Army Cadet Ten Tors team.

The 3 boys made up 1/2 of the 6 person team for Devon cadets. The other 3 coming from Plympton, Okehampton and Torrington. They secured their spaces after competing with 30+ cadets (who put themselves forward in September) from the whole of Devon to be chosen for the team. They went through rounds of numerous weekends on the Moors.

Their commitment has been nothing short of remarkable. The training involved long weekends spent hiking and camping across the rugged terrain of Dartmoor, often in challenging winter conditions. It tested not only their physical endurance but also their teamwork, resilience, and determination.

On Saturday, the trio began their attempt at the 35-mile course from Okehampton Camp. Taking full advantage of the favourable weather, they pushed themselves to the limit, reaching the furthest point permitted on the route. Their efforts paid off as they finished the day as the fastest team on their route – an incredible achievement that reflects their hard work and dedication.

We are immensely proud of Mahi, Zack, and Quentin. Their success is a testament to what can be achieved through perseverance, teamwork, and a strong sense of purpose.
