Year 8 London Trip

Posted: 2nd July 2018

Around 40 year 8 students recently enjoyed a fantastic trip to London over three days and two nights. The lucky pupils visited the Tower of London and took part in a workshop on Elizabethan times and archeaology, HMS Belfast and Tate Modern. During a visit to the Houses of Parliament Mrs Murphy engaged in a debate on funding of the NHS with our local MP Peter Heaton-Jones. The Sea Life Centre and London Dungeons were also on the itinerary, followed by a West End show, The Lion King. On the final day, students visited the Natural History Museum and Science Museum including a visit to the new installation, "Wonderlab", which was amazing. On the journey home, a stop was made at Stonehenge. Some comments from students on the trip.... "I enjoyed the London Dungeons because I've never been and have always wanted to go." Emer. "The thing I most enjoyed about the London trip was my experience in the museums, because I learnt a lot whilst I was there." Sydney.  "I really enjoyed going to see The Lion King. It was awesome to finally get to watch it. The acting was amazing and the songs were pretty emotional." Anon.
