Our Team competes in ESAA Track and Field Cup
On June 5th, the years 9 and 10 athletics team travelled to Exeter to compete in the ESAA Track and Field Cup regional finals. They qualified for this by coming 1st in the round 1 qualifying event last month. The team finished in a very respectable 4th place and in doing so surpassed a long-standing school record at this competition by scoring 358 points. They competed against schools from all over the southwest region which encompasses Hampshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Somerset, Avon, Gloucestershire, Devon, Cornwall and the Channel Isles. Despite two of our best athletes being injured or absent the team did remarkably well and were a credit to our Academy.
Particular mentions go to Kieran Rattigan (100m) Marcus Barron (1500m) and Jack Dutton (800m) who all won their individual events by a very long way.
